Romulus Terms of Use

These terms apply when you use Romulus Residents Directory. By using the service, you agree to them. Do not use the service if you do not agree.

1. Purpose of This Service

Romulus Residents Directory is a privately operated reference service. It describes and links to public rolls, record indexes, and historical directory collections relevant to Romulus, Michigan. It does not host government records and is not connected with the City of Romulus, Wayne County, a court, a library, or any records custodian.

2. Acceptable Use

Use this service only for lawful purposes. You may not use it, or information reached through it, to:

  • Stalk, harass, threaten, intimidate, or harm another person
  • Seek out a person protected by a restraining or protective order
  • Commit fraud or identity theft
  • Make an FCRA-regulated decision about credit, employment, tenant screening, or insurance
  • Scrape, reproduce, or republish service content at scale
  • Disrupt the service or compromise its security

3. Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Romulus Residents Directory is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, 15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq. Nothing published here, and nothing produced by a linked search tool, is a consumer report. It may not be used to decide eligibility for credit, employment, housing, insurance, or another purpose regulated by the FCRA.

4. External Resources

Wayne County, Michigan, library, archive, and other outside services, including sponsored search tools, operate under their own terms and policies. We do not control their content, availability, fees, or information practices.

5. No Warranties

The service is offered “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any type. We do not guarantee that the information is accurate, complete, or current, or that a linked portal will operate or return a correct result.

6. Limits of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, the service operators are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages arising from use of this service or a linked resource, including decisions based on records reached through it.

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold the service operators harmless from a claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, that results from misuse of the service or a violation of these terms.

8. Intellectual Property

The original text, design, logo, and layout used by this service are protected by copyright. Links to pages and short attributed quotations are permitted; full-page republication or systematic copying is not.

9. Changes to Terms

We may revise these terms by posting an updated version here. Continued use after that posting constitutes acceptance of the revision.

10. Restricting Access

We may block or limit access, without notice and at our discretion, when a user violates these terms or abuses the service.

11. Michigan Law

Michigan law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Public records held by a Michigan public body may be subject to the Michigan Freedom of Information Act, Public Act 442 of 1976, MCL 15.231 et seq.; its fee provision is MCL 15.234. That statute governs a qualifying request to the relevant custodian, not the availability of a private reference service.

12. Severability

If a provision of these terms is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect.

13. Questions

Questions about these terms may be sent through the Contact page.
